Oscar Introduces New Broker Background Check Requirement

Oscar is introducing a new broker background check process designed to help further protect consumers and maintain a trusted broker network.

If you are currently contracted with Oscar, this is an important requirement to complete. The good news: the process is quick and simple, typically taking only 3–5 minutes to provide the required information.

Important Dates to Know

September 15, 2026: Oscar’s trusted background check vendor, First Advantage, will send brokers an email with instructions for completing the background check.

September 30, 2026: Deadline to submit all required information.

Once you begin the process, you will also be able to monitor the status of your background check through your First Advantage portal.

Why This Matters

Your background check must be completed and approved in order to receive Oscar commissions beginning January 1, 2027.

If you are an Oscar broker, be sure to watch your inbox beginning September 15 and complete the process as soon as possible. Don’t let this simple requirement interrupt your commissions in the new year!
